This car was sent to the Carrosserie Company (UK) Ltd in the summer of 2008. Since the original Saloon Ash Body Frame was badly damaged by woodworm, we were commissioned to make a replica Charlesworth Drop Head Coupe’ body but as far as possible, using the Chrome ”Furniture” of the saloon. The Ash Body Frame was designed and constructed in house as was the Aluminium Body Skin. The Saloon Windscreen & Frame were used and the shape of the Windscreen pillars made to suit. The Door window mechanisms were retained as were the Locks this meant a slight difference to the “A” pillar of the Doors. The original Front and Rear Mudguards have been repaired & retained but new Running Boards were needed to complete the Body. Now finished in traditional Alvis Two Tone Dark Blue over Pale Blue the owner is completing the reassembly work himself.
