Mechanical Engineering

A vehicle’s bodywork may be where art meets craft, but the engine is where dreams are made.

The roar of a finely tuned V8 working to perfection, the smell of oil in the air, the glistening steel and brass freshly cleaned: It’s all part and parcel of owning a unique classic car, and our highly experienced mechanical engineers are dedicated to breathing that soul back into your masterpiece, so it can bring the road to life again. From minor fixes, tuning and servicing all the way up to a total re-build and restoration of engines that have decades or more than a century of life behind them, our skilled and dedicated team have the talent and diligence to do your vehicle justice.

Our mechanics are engineers first and foremost, and bring to the table a broad and eclectic mix of talents that can be applied successfully to any project. Great engineering takes time and patience, and diligence, precision and organization are the key features of the work we do day to day. Each element of your vehicle’s mechanical parts, from the engine itself to the gearbox and clutch, will be treated with the care and attention it deserves, meticulously cleaned and numbered using time-honoured procedures that would have been familiar to the vehicle’s original builders. Our engineers work on our own custom designed bench, perfectly suited to the way we work, and every engine receives a minimum of 40 hours of testing before being installed into your car. It’s not the easy way, but it’s the right way, and it ensures your car has been put through its paces before we hand it back to your care.

Our engineering team always takes a holistic approach to restoring and rebuilding your vehicle, and ‘good enough’ isn’t in our vocabulary. Whatever is required, including: Fully re-building and overhauling a gearbox, stripping and cleaning an entire engine to re-assemble it from scratch, completely overhauling and replacing a broken clutch. We specialise in total ‘nut and bolt’ restorations of cars that require a lot of care and attention, and over our many years of operation we have worked on some of the most sought after and rarest models out there, including some totally unique models that exist nowhere else. Our engineers love working with the older, rarer and more exotic vehicles, but at the end of the day every car that passes through our care receives the same level of fastidious service as the rest, because every car we service is a passion project.

Any classic car owner is merely a custodian of a masterpiece, looking after it for the next generation of car lovers to enjoy, so your vehicle deserves the absolute best in care when it comes to mechanical engineering. If you’ve come to us then you’re fastidious about your vehicle, so who better to manage your car’s mechanical engineering needs than a team of engineers who are just as passionate about methodical, high quality engineering as you?
