MGB Restoration
The MGB holds a special place in many classic owner’s hearts as the car that first got them into the idea of owning a sports model, thanks to its exceptional good looks and impressive performance at a price that makes it accessible to new owners.
In a market dominated by hand-built, luxury marques like Bentley and Aston Martin, the MGB was launched to help make ownership of a GT a middle class pursuit rather than the preserve of the rich or the enthusiast. Something accomplished by applying modern building techniques like the unibody shell to tried and tested systems taken from older models like the MGA.
The result was a car that became enormously popular in the UK and around the world, it was actually the best selling sports car in the world for nearly 20 years, and became known as the ‘Englishman’s sports car’ as a result. The MGB ceased production in 1980 but remained popular for many years after, a fact which helped propel the MGB to become one of the top classic cars in Britain, supported by many active and involved owner’s clubs and a wealth of spare parts freely available to enable modification and repair.
At Carrosserie we love to help bring these little gems back to life through our exceptional skill at classic car restoration, and we can perform every type of project on your MGB, whether that’s a minor repair to the paint or bodywork or a full nuts and bolts re-build. We’re intimately familiar with every model and variant in the range, so we can approach every project with a level of insight and knowledge that few can match, and thanks to our decades of experience working on these cars we can also promise the highest quality work too.
