Aston Martin Restoration
Aston Martin is a brand with racing in its blood, and right from the start its engineers have strived to go further and faster with every tweak and change they make to the vehicles that leave their workshops.
Unlike many luxury and performance car brands that exist today, this most famous British marque exists purely because of the two founders’ obsession with speed, as they developed ever newer and more capable engines and chassis to attack races and records throughout Europe. Even as the marque passed through various owners in its early life and began to produce road cars, this was largely in service of its racing arm, which competed at the Le Mans 24 Hour race with distinction.
It was only after the Second World War, and after the brand’s marriage with luxury car marque Lagonda, that the first true flourishing of Aston Martin’s iconic status would begin. Under the stewardship of David Brown the famous DB series was born, and it produced some of the most famous and widely appreciated examples of British vehicle design in history. While other British brands gradually drifted towards the luxury end of the market, Aston Martin have always retained deep roots in racing, and every classic Aston Martin has been designed and built with the aim of pushing the envelope in terms of speed and performance. From Britain’s first true supercar, the V8 Vantage, to the movie star DB5 its hard to think of another marque that can boast a garage that is so steeped in myth and heritage.
