It was only after the Second World War, and after the brand’s marriage with luxury car marque Lagonda, that the first true flourishing of Aston Martin’s iconic status would begin. Under the stewardship of David Brown the famous DB series was born, and it produced some of the most famous and widely appreciated examples of British vehicle design in history. While other British brands gradually drifted towards the luxury end of the market, Aston Martin have always retained deep roots in racing, and every classic Aston Martin has been designed and built with the aim of pushing the envelope in terms of speed and performance.
