The Project

This 1985 Ford Capri MK3 2.8 Injection arrived at our Carrosserie workshop in March 2022 for full body and paintwork restoration.

Updates

Initially, the car was taken back to it’s original bare metal. At this stage our fabrication team rectified numerous corrosion issues, before it was then passed on to our paintwork team for the body to be fully prepped and sprayed ready for its final original two tone blue and silver paint.

12th October 2022: Bodywork/Doors fully prepped/sprayed ready for original two tone blue and silver paint.

27th October 2022: Body and doors have been painted in the original two tone blue and silver and is currently being polished.

10th November 2022: Owner has viewed the car for the first time as it was sent straight to Carrosserie after purchase and he is very happy with the work so far.

19th January 2023: Paintwork completed and stickers have been applied. Works are 90% complete with just a few minor things to finish before the owner can collect.

History

The Capri was marketed as ‘the car you always promised yourself’, but as the 1970s progressed, it became softer and less desirable. But as the Capri’s character arc continued to move, it was given one final hurrah – the Cologne V6-powered 2.8 Injection.
